Besides carefully researched data on the distribution, biology and ecology of the Testudo hermanm species group, Holger Vetter also introduces us to the many projects that exist today in an effort to conserve these unique monuments of nature in Europe, urges us to respect these animals, and as a result makes an excellent contribution to the public relations work of nature and species conservation.
