Mary Shelley subtitled her novel Frankenstein \"The Modern Day Prometheus\" in which she built her character part by part. Blue Be the Night is a sojourn from philosophical ponderings on life to different styles of the poetic form with the later pages playing games with language reminiscent of James Joyce.
