Most orthopedic surgeons prefer to read their patients MR imaging studies themselves rather than rely on the radiologists report. It was found that the surgeon s preoperative diagnosis was significantly more accurate than the radiologist s report. The study said that the formal interpretation of the MRI scan by the radiologist had inaccuracies and did not correlate with the initial diagnosis.
