With more than 2900 new entries, the revised edition of Margaret Ross Griffel's Operas in German: A Dictionary addresses itself wholly to operas written specifically to a German text, whether the text comes from a source originally in German or from a German translation. The main body of this book provides entries on the operas themselves, rather than on musical terms, characters, composers, performers, and other personages.
