I served on the committee of supervision of Dr. Opade's dissertation. The research used critical discourse analysis, exegetical analysis, and feminist stylistic analysis to study Deborah-a leader in Judges 4. The research is a ground one in Old Testament scholarship as far as this Seminary is concerned. The study involved the collection of data from the field which revealed that even contemporary Nigerian society is also gendered biased when it comes to women in leadership positions. The study recommended among others that educational establishments should adopt gender-free or anti-sexist language policies and procedures that will promote gender equality among sexes.
