The main aim of the book is to depict the transformations that are taking place within different form of family in comparative perspective. Interest in the family is extremely alive and widespread now. In the time of intensive transformations family as the basic social particle undergoes different changes from the preferred and implemented models of the family life to the relations in the family. That is why the editors of the book decided to invite scholars from different part of Europe so they can present the results of their research.
