Mountaineer's tragedy, mountaineer's luck Focussed on what had tob e done reach my goal and ultimately concentrating on survival, I had experienced part of what makes up the powerful and infinite drama calles Everest. My own story in this intricate mountain drama was successful despite considerable danger, particularly on the descent, but I'd seen enough to know that the Everest chronicle since the discovery in 1852 has also been filled with tragic turns, with failure, losses and death. Even as our group was successfully reaching the top and fighting their way back to base camp, things were happening which should be told in ordert o communicate perhaps not a complete picture, but a more realistic one about what happens on the hieghest mountain in the world.
