Izumi Tanaka has become a princess who wears pants instead of pastel dresses, dates her former bodyguard, and has a Tamagotchi dog of unknown pedigree. The princess\'s father, the crown prince, also defiantly rejects imperial rules and traditions, because he has renewed his relationship with Izumi\'s mother. Ms. Tanaka could cause a succession crisis, and she\'s also a feminist with radical environmentalist views. And while the imperial court dreams of ending this relationship, the crown prince announces that he intends to marry his American sweetheart.
